Along with keeping up with social distancing and our cleaning routines, we have also updated our skin patch test policy.
While we know many of you will be wondering why, as you have been coming to us for years and have had our colour on your hair regularly, it is vital that we skin test everyone who comes for a hair colour.
In normal situations, if you had not had a colour in six months or skin test in a year we would be testing you.
However, we are also now implementing this because:
- There is uncertainty as to how having Covid - 19 or the vaccine could affect your immune system which could cause allergic reactions (even if previously you have never had a problem)
- Anyone who has had a box colour or henna dye could have a new reaction to our colours
- If you have suffered any other illness which has affected your immune system, it’s important to get checked out.
Therefore when called to book your latest colour appointment you will be asked to come in 48 hours beforehand for a simple skin test, which will just take a few minutes from your day!
Once applied behind your ear, you will have to leave it on for 48 hours without washing, covering or touching. If you notice any reactions such as intense redning, itching or swelling in or around the test area, please wash off immediately and inform us. We then would recommend that you seek medical advice before any further colour recommendations are made.
